+1000000 to post above! It's way more about social interaction. Just a few hours 2-3x a week is plenty!

@Mrs. Bum: my older one is 3.5 and started in the preschool room in September. It seems like the big focus this year has been learning their ABCs. Not just singing the song, but letter recognition and know what things or words that start with that letter. Also social interaction, playing nicely with others, using their words with their friends etc.

I think if you could afford it, a 2 day per week preschool session would be beneficial just for the social interaction. Learning to respect other adults without mom and dad present. And I just think there are skills learned in a preschool setting that you can't learn in a play date.
At home I think it could work to plan "school" time around the 9 month olds nap time. I think the 2 yo could participate in a simple form of your lesson plan! :)

My cousin in law is homeschooling her kindergartener and I know she also belongs to a homeschool group. They get together for regular outings which I think is important for social skills.

Good luck!

My 3 year old will start preschool next fall. She is very active and hyper and just go go go! Her little sisters will be 2 and 9 months at that point. Debating on whether or not to plunge into homeschooling or have time with the others while she's at an outside school. Pros and cons. .?
