@T.H.O.U.: Oh totally. I find once I know what I am looking for, I can figure out ways to DIY.

I also really like laminating pouches, those are great to give things a little more weight. I am going to laminate some math triangles ( i don't know the right name for them, but if you look on amazon, you'll eventually come across them).

@lamariniere: I like it because it is tactile and my son likes to manipulate things when he learns.

It also allows him to practice and build his confidence.

@looch: they are erasable pens! They are actually pretty cool. They also use pencils, but I've noticed pens seem to get more use. We also had to provide markers and colored pencils at the beginning of the school year.

@lamariniere: that's interesting that pens are used....we're using pencils, markers and crayons. I don't have any idea when they introduce pens here.

Aren't the small white boards so great?

@T.H.O.U.: They're materials that I bought, most of it was never intended to be used to support homework.

The stamps for example, were mine from scrapbooking days. We got a worksheet for homework that came home and the activity was trace it, write it, stamp it.

The dry erase boards are great because he can practice on them or I can show him an example so he's not messing up his papers.

The other stuff I bought over the summer to try and get a jump on learning sight words, but he just HATED them so I stopped and now, since they're doing sightwords in school, we have them as supplements to the homework and he loves to use them.

He'll wake up at 6 30 in the morning and ask what work he can do.

@looch: are these supplemental materials you have on hand for learning resources or things actually required for school homework? Right now her homework has just been worksheets. Mostly just needing a pencil but one was cut and paste.

I bought a set of Frixion pens like the ones they use at school because DS doesn't usually bring his pencil case home. I also bought a small white board with pens so that I can write things or show him examples. Other than that, he brings home the notebooks he needs each day and we haven't needed anything else so far.

I am always on the lookout for ways to make the homework completion part of our day a little bit easier and I am sure there are a ton of things out there to support this...so I figured we could brainstorm and share the materials that we're using.
