Sorry you’re going through this. I get them, too. I never did until I tried a new bcp and now I’m stuck with them. Idk if your birth control is new, but it took about 4 months between when I started the different pill and when the headaches started. Changing back to my old birth control helped immensely, but I still get them from time to time just before my cycle starts. Second @foodiebee:, as soon as you realize it’s starting take something, getting ahead of it is crucial. I had an Imitrex prescription for a while, but Excedrin Migraine does just as well for me for less money. Caffeine helps me, too, so I’ll usually pound a cup of coffee with the pill, and then, if I’m able, I lie down and try to sleep.

I think I might (I also have yet to see a doctor to figure out if it's migraine or not). I've noticed that getting up too quickly in the morning makes it even worse. So if possible, I try to set my alarm earlier than I actually have to get up.

@foodiebee: ugh bummer that you get them too! I should try excedrin migraine again, I ran out awhile ago and neither the extra-strength tylenol and ibuprofen that I've tried this time aren't quite cutting it. I'm on day 3 today and so over it!

I do. I get them at the beginning of or day or so before I start my cycle. I take either 2 extra-strength Tylenol or an Excedrin migraine and try to take it EARLY. That really helps. Otherwise it gets going too strongly and I'm playing catch-up. They stink but I've come to accept it as part of things, unfortunately.

Does anyone here get hormonal/menstrual migraines? if so, has anything helped? I'd love some advice!

I used to think my headaches were sinus headaches or allergy related, but my mom suggested I track them to see if they're related to my menstrual cycle because I get them regularly. I've been tracking since August, and while I do get a headache that lasts 1-3 days each month, it's not at exactly the same time in my cycle. I'm on bcp (ortho tri cyclen lo generic). The pain is usually worse behind my eyes, around my temples, and the base of my head/neck

I'll eventually ask my dr, but with a covid surge in my area getting non-emergency care is on the backburner!
