Thanks ladies! I figured yoga pants/tank would be the most comfortable for me post delivery when I get a chance.

I stayed in a hospital gown the whole time. I ended up having an emergency c section, so I didn't really want to wear the yoga pants I brought with me.

I wore my own nightgown until they did my epidural at which time they made me put on a hospital gown. After, I wore nightgowns for a couple days and then sweats. I was in the hospital 5 days though.

You strip down to nothing when you put on the hospital gown. Be thankful for that, there's a lot of "the grossness" going on.

I had M at Noon on Monday and by Tuesday, I wanted to be out of that stupid gown. I wore my own pj pants and nursing tank and it felt wonderful. The nurses hooked me up so I had enough padding down there so "the grossness" didn't get on my clothes. :)

I didn't like staying in my hospital gown at all. Late in day two I showered and put on some comfy pants, bra and a t-shirt. I wore similar items every day until I went home. It made me feel cleaner and better. I never wore a robe or any of the other items I thought I would.

I packed lots of clothes but stayed in the hospital gown. It was just easier that way. The hospital gown had snaps over the shoulder for breastfeeding. I wore my robe over the gown when I left the room

I wasn't able to stand up any longer than it took to get to the bathroom without passing out until the morning that I left, so I stayed in a gown the whole time. Hopefully, next time I won't need a blood transfusion and will be able to shower and get into my own clothes. I imagine that would make everything much more comfortable.

I had my c-section in a hospital gown, and as soon as I was permitted (a few hours later) I changed into a maxi dress and stayed in those for my 4 day stay.

Everyone I ahve talked too says deliver in the hospital gown and then afte showering switch into comfy yoga pants and nursing top/cami top with a zip up hoodie over top when company comes. I plan on coming home in the same. I also plan on getting a new robe, slippers, and socks in case it is cold (and I usually am.) I will also have a long t-shirt nightgown for nights so checking is easier if needed.

With both kids I wore the gown until the next morning, when I showered and changed into my own clothes. I found yoga pants/pajama pants and tank tops with a sweater to be the most comfortable, post-partum.

After visiting a few friends who have had babies in the past few weeks and seeking their advice...I'm hoping to deliver in a gown (seems pretty standard), and for after I got a few long, dark, sleep tees from Target, dark loose pants, a couple nursing tops and a light cardigan like sweater for over the tops and slippers. On the way home I'm going to wear a loose dress I got from Old Navy that doubles as a nursing top.

With DD, I wore the hospital gown from the time I checked into my L&D room until right before I was discharged; I did put on a pair of pajama pants at one point so DH and I could go for a walk around the floor (I was getting a little stir-crazy sitting in the room all day). I would put on a new hospital gown after my showers just to feel a little better.

This time I am thinking I will change into a nursing tank and possibly pajama pants at some point because it would be nice to not feel so "blah" however it was nice to not worry about ruining any of my own clothes if I bled too much.

I wasn't given a hospital gown, so I delivered in what I wore to the hospital, which happened to be a beige and black ruched tee from Motherhood. I had black yoga pants on the bottom.

In the recovery room, I wore the gown the first night and changed into a light tank style night gown.

I wore a hospital gown until after my LO was born. Probably kept the gown on for another 12 hours post baby birth. Then I showered and changed into a cami and sweats.
The gown's convenient because nurses will come in every so many hours to check your lady parts. :T

What do you wear while you are in labor, delivering and afterwards? I would assume the hospital gown, but the whole time?
