I had a list of over 55 items, do you know I hardly used anything?

What I could have used were some magazines to flip through when I was awake in the middle of the night and couldn't sleep. Just something mindless to wind me down.

Bring your own bath towel and pillow. The scratchy one from the hospital suuuucks. I also wore stretchy headbands every single day.

I have fuzzy socks with sticky pads on the bottom. They were great for the slick and cold hospital floors. I was pretty wobbly

The only thing I have in addition to what you have listed is a formula starter pack in case I can't BF (our hospitals here don't provide formula) and some muslins. Oh and changing paraphernalia like wipes/cotton wool, nappy sacks etc (again, our hospital doesn't provide this). I've also packed a bottle of hand gel just in case I can't get to the sink.

For me, the only thing I have packed that you haven't mentioned is a hand mirror, in case I feel like fixing my make up!

Your list looks good! Like some PPs have said, I'd bring snacks and your own pillows. Our hospital had great food but it also took an hour to get it after ordering, so snacks came in handy! Also, these are totally not necessary but they made me feel better - face cleansing wipes. I just got the 97 cent travel pack of Ponds at Target.. I could barely shower on my own but felt so gross, and washing my face with these made me feel like a new person. The postpartum sweats are no joke!

I second the pillows. We spent an abnormally long time in the hospital, thanks to a marathon induction, and we were both so thankful for our own pillows! (Easy to leave in the trunk if you don't need them!)

You might also consider taking whatever you are going to use to nurse (boppy, etc). It may be helpful to practice positioning and latch with what you will use at home. Oh! Also lanolin for my poor nips was definitely helpful.

I'm convinced we will forget this, so just in case-- contact stuff if either of you wear contacts, plus your glasses. And your camera charger if that's not already included.

And I don't think you will need this while you are away from the apartment-- I think baby will understand and hang in there until you are resettled at home :)

I also packed two extra pillows which was great.

@FutureMrsMcK: Ah, yes, socks for me - thank you! My chapstick is in my toiletry bag, I've heard it's way necessary.

@aprk: We have a charging bank right above the hospital bed, so I think we'll be okay with our regular charging cords.

I'll make sure DH packs snacks in his bag, for sure.

Good call on the towels; thanks!

I don't know what kind of hair you have, but hair ties, headbands, hair clips...my bangs were just a little too long and kept falling in my eyes and making me nuts.

Also, chapstick. My lips were horribly dry by the end. And socks for you. My hospital room was freezing. And chargers.

I also brought my baby book so I could fill in things while they were still very fresh in my mind.

Other things we took that were helpful - an extension cord to charge your phone, a towel for you (hospital ones suck) and a blanket for your husband. Also, snacks like granola bars. I was starving all the time!

We're leaving for a hotel tonight (construction on complex = displacement), and need to have everything ready, in case I go into labor a little early.
