I rented a hospital grade pump for the first three months after Lorelei was born. I used it in conjunction with More Milk Special Blend tincture and domperidone, as well as a nursing tea. I do feel it contributed positively towards my having an adequate supply. Lorelei was a pretty good sleeper in the beginning, and so sometimes if she wouldn't wake in just a couple of hours I would pump, just to make sure I was telling my body to make more milk.

I rented one the day I came home from the hospital so that I could establish my supply. I think that mixed with my supplements (and lactation cookies are NOT that yummy) helped some. I'm able to nurse all day and pump about 9 extra ounces a day. I was told to pump 4 times a day in addition to nursing, but I rarely got more than two pumping sessions in a day.

Now I'm just using a medela pump in style and I can tell the difference, so I'm glad I rented from the hospital. I totly think it established my supply.

I use a Medela Symphony & I love it. It did help my supply somewhat but I am also not a religious pumper. I pump about once a day, maybe twice. But I really love how comfortable & efficient it is!

If you used a hospital grade pump to increase supply, did it increase your supply? How long did you use the hospital grade pump for?
