Williams Sonoma sells a set of kitchen hand soap and lotion in a cute holder that’s really nice. Or a holiday scented candle?

Maybe something like this?

https://www.shopwaitingonmartha.com/products/apple-baking-dish?variant=13529118310435

It's an apple crisp baking mix + baking dish, on sale for $35. I recently brought it as a housewarming party gift. They also have a pumpkin baking set. If not that, the site has tons of other great hostess gifts.

@Mrs. Oreo: do you remember what brand they are? I only buy kitchen towels at target and don't have a good barometer for gift-able towels :silly:

@wrkbrk: They’re not, actually! Almost everybody thinks they are - I kept them out of my house for years - but apparently they’re only mildly toxic, and only if consumed in large amounts.

@erinbaderin: Yes! Those are festive! But they’re toxic to animals FYI so maybe better for houses without them!

I would bring wine, but if you didn’t want to do that maybe a poinsettia, so it doesn’t matter if they’re not good with plants, nobody wants them to live after Christmas anyway.

we are in the exact same position! What about baking an orange cranberry bread? We did that last year. Then they can freeze it if they don't want to eat it.

We always bring breakfast items to a dinner party. A box of nice croissants or muffins from a local bakery usually - so the hosts don’t have to worry about breakfast the next day when they’re cleaning up etc! Tip: This also works when the hostess is pregnant and not drinking!

My go to is always a bottle of wine.

If they don't drink cute Christmas kitchen towels and a pair of oven mitts always go over well.

I've had people bring plants but my internal monologue is always, "great something to kill" :silly:

We are attending a christmas party at a neighbor's house later this month. There are about 5 couples invited. The hosting couple are empty nesters and the rest of us are a mix of empty nesters/kids in middle school/little kids. We are all adjacent neighbors.

I am at a loss for what to bring for a hostess gift (I am terrible at this type of thing...)

The dinner is a pot luck style - everyone bring something in the appetizer/dessert category and we snack. The hosts make about 50% of the food and the rest is brought by guests. So I will be bringing one or two things to "share" for that part, but feel like I should be bringing something for the hosts themselves.

Ideas?
