My son had a playdate last week with his buddy and the next day his friend was sick, then my son got sick a few days later and has been now since Sunday. My friend has apologized so many times (not her fault though, because the day I was there her son wasn't sick) so I know she would have told me if she even thought just for a second her son was sick.
