@regberadaisy: we ended up doing a shorter walk, and I stopped and nursed her half-way through in the shade. I think she still got kind of hot, but was alright.

@blackbird: my husband keeps saying- think of all the babies in Africa!

@Smurfette: tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter, so I think I might even go after dinner. Right now her sleep schedule is a little shifted- she didn't go to bed for the night until midnight and so we were in bed until about 9:30 (with 3 wakings)- so it was already hot!

I hate the heat myself- so I'm probably being overcautious for her!

I feel like babies are pretty resilient. What do they do in places without AC? I went for a walk in similar temp, put a hat on her, and stayed in the shade. BUT, it did make her eczema flare up being against me in that weather.

I personally would be worried bc at this young age they can't temperature regulate yet. If you must take her out stay in between 2-4 when it's the hottest and def go by the lake! Try to walk near shade too.

Also what about getting something like this?

My daughter is about 5 1/2 weeks. I have been going for long walks with her each day, about 4 miles or so. Today is our first day of summer heat- high of 85. I usually wear her, but can do the stroller with the infant car seat attachment.
Should I be worried about her temp regulation in weather like this? I could drive to the bike path which is by the lake, and usually has a nice breeze... Should I not wear her?

Help a cold-climate mama out!
