It's right near Times Square and it's not "nice" but it's totally fine for a school trip. We all stayed there for a cheerleading competition my little sister was in years ago and there were tons of school and cheer groups. I remember back then, it was definitely under $200 with an AAA discount.</p> <p>There are also Hilton Garden Inns, Days inns, etc in Manhattan and they all run specials from time to time--and you may get a group discount. I'd narrow it down to potential hotels by reading reviews and then call them directly to ask about group rates. Parameters for the hotel include: reasonably priced, safe area, within walking distance to subway as they won't have a car and don't want to pay for taxis. I have personally only been to NYC once and stayed right off of Time Square (conference for my last job) so I have no idea were to begin looking. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated. Thank you. </p>
