Charleston place is the classic choice but there are a ton of affordable options. You definitely want to stay right on/near King Street. We are thinking of Charleston...I've never been but have always wanted to visit and DH went for a short time after getting out of basic training a million years ago and wants to go back. So, any recommendations on a hotel or area to stay in? Also, the best time to go? We are kind of hoping to avoid touristy season so we were thinking about early fall once kids go back to school. Finally, is there anywhere worth visiting in the area, within driving distance? Like Beaufort? I'd love to hit Savannah but don't think I want to drive quite that far with 8+ month old Owen.... </p>
