We bought the first and only house that we looked at. But our friends just bought a house and had been looking (non-aggressively) for about a year.</p> <p>I think it all really depends on how hard you look and if your expectations are realistic for your price range. Our friends had a lower price range and kind of unrealistic expectations, so it was hard for them to find something they liked. Plus, it was inventory the builder needed to get rid of so they priced it super low meaning it was buy it now or lose it. We weren't ready to commit and passed on it. We kick ourselves everyday for giving up that home. We searched for 5 months for our current home and had big plans on renovating it, but life happened and we don't love it anymore. We found one that we put an offer on and we got out bid. I am still sad that we didn't get that house.
