Flylady has some interesting techniques too so maybe check her out. If you think a combo of online and an app would work for you try Cozi, they let you keep a calendar, meal plan, recipe box, multiple shopping and to do lists and a few other things all in one place. I keep it open in a tab on my browser and check in with it a few times a day.
