Around 6 weeks. He was spitting up quite a lot after feedings and an LC advised giving him one for just a few minutes. All the sucking really help keep everything down. However, DS was never really interested in the paci and would spit it out and not want it. By 5 months, he was totally done with it.

4 weeks when the colic ramped up. My sister, who has two LOs, figured out how to get her to take it using some of her baby whisperer magic. Now, at 8 months, we have multiple, back up monkey wubbanubs and she has them for sleep, car trips and if she's extra fussy.

I'm trying not to think about paci weaning her. Its going to be a whole lot of not fun - she loves her monkey.

DS was introduced to it at the hospital. Up until he was 3 months, he would suck on it for pleasure then spit it out when he was done with it (even awake!). Now, we use it only to help him go to sleep.

About 6 weeks when he started comfort sucking at night and my nipples needed a break. He didn't like it at first but will now take it occasionally. It's only used as a last resort really.

We gave one to him for the car ride home from the hospital, and then tried introducing it again at around 3-4 weeks, but he had zero interest in it at all. Then he randomly picked it up at 6 months (right when we started sleep training), and still uses it (but we only give it to him when he sleeps or on long car trips).

We gave her a pacifier when she was about one month old. She was fussier than normal that week, so my DH thought it was worth a shot. She still uses it at 4 months, mostly when she is tired. Sometimes she prefers to suck on her hands though (not exactly her thumb, more like her fist).

Day 2 in the hospital. My boobs needed a break. He still uses it when he's fussy or tired. Hubs gives it to him more than I'd like (like when he's calmly playing?), so I end up popping it out of his mouth. It usually doesn't piss him off too much, though. But he definitely has a strong sucking reflex and sometimes it's the ONLY thing that will calm him down.

We waited until eight weeks. She still will pop one in occasionally at ten months, but if I took them away she wouldn't notice.

I'd say around 3-4 months, LO took to a pacifier. After a night wake up with DH, I came into the room and he was happily sucking away. At 14 months, we still use one for bedtime and naps. We're supposed to be weaning him of it soon, but are going to hold off because it's been comfort for teething.

We gave dd a wubbanub while she was in the NICU to comfort her so she had used a soother right from the beginning. We have 3 now because they are so awesome. We use it to calm her , mostly at nights when she gets fussy.

She's 8 weeks now and close to finding her thumb so not sure what she will prefer!

I introduced it in the hospital!!! Breastfeeding wasn't working and it was the only way to stop her screaming constantly.

She stopped taking it for a few weeks between about 2 and 6 weeks but then she started taking it again. We just kept offering it when she was crying. Now, at 3 months, we only use it in bed when she is going to sleep or in the pushchair if we are out during nap time.

Day 3, the nurses in Special Care stuck it in her mouth. It's pretty amazing. She has a wubbanub. Uses it mostly for sleep/naps/super crabby periods, but if it's nearby and she wants it, she'll crawl over and pop it in her mouth.

I think we gave it to him around 2-2.5weeks as well. He wasn't super into it but it did help curb the habit of using nursing to fall asleep/stay asleep. He gave up using it altogether around 6 months without us needing to do anything.

We introduced a pacifier to Xander at 2.5 weeks because I couldn't take him using ME as one any longer! We pretty much would use it as our "last resort" whenever he was fussy and we were sure he wasn't hungry, needing a change, needed to be snuggled, etc.

Now at 8 months, we just keep the pacifier in his crib and only use it for naps and bedtime.

I'm trying to figure this out. BabyDD seems to be on the road to using a pacifier and I have no idea when/how/how often to use it (ToddlerDD was a thumbsucker).
