@junebugsmama: I had good luck with h&m pants when my LO was younger (pre mobile age). I found that they had a lot of room in the butt for his cloth diaper but the legs weren't too huge and most could be rolled up or had elastic at the ankle so they didn't fall over his feet.
I did find the sizes run big even on my chubby baby.

We have jeans and khakis from the Children's Place that have adjustable waistbands. LO has been in the 12-18 month size since 6months for the length. He has always been 99% for length. Hoping we can stay in those until it gets warm enough for shorts.

Can you put him in leggings? ;) I have a little girl and the ONLY thing that looks good on her is leggings. I've tried so many different jeans/joggers/cords/other types of trouser and they just don't seem to work!

@BadgerMom: lol! I guess I should have figured that! He actually is long in general but not long enough to up a size. Old navy does seem every short and wide. His old navy onesies make me laugh cause they look like high cut leotards!

@spaniellove: My LO has a very long torso and shorter legs. Circo works the best, but I still have that "gap" in the waist. My MIL ends up taking them and putting elastic in the waistband for me and so far it's worked great. Do you know a friend or family member that could do the same?

I have a long and lean girl, Circo was a good fit, Old Navy I usually rolled but they stayed up. Circo doesn't hold up the greatest but they were cheap. She's 2 1/2 and still doesn't wear jeans very often, only leggings/jeggings due to her skinny waist and long legs.

Sorry @junebugsmama: since I have a string bean, I'm not sure about wide wasted short pants lol. I would try Old Navy and Gap, because I find those to be wayyy to short on my LO. He can still fit into 3-6mo Gap/Old Navy with his cloth diaper on, and he's in 9+ month in everything else with his cloth booty. Carter's tend to run long and narrow with regards to their suggested month.

This is one of the pluses of having a girl-- leggings are way more forgiving and if they are too long, they just bunch up at the ankle but usually don't get under her foot. And I don't have a long skinny kid-- she's got a big belly and average legs. Still have issues with pants fitting.

@BadgerMom: my baby is only 2 mo but he's in cloth and he's chubby and I've had the hardest time with pants so far! The waist always seems too tight and so I tried on some 3-6 mo and the waist was the same almost and the pants just flapped around past his feet :)

Any suggestions of the best cloth diaper fitting pants?

@spaniellove: That's ok! We do both, and I have to choose pants based on the diaper type. Unless I'm going for the "walking shorts" look, he can't wear Gap or Old Navy pants in a disposable diaper. Carters and Jcrew are the only ones that work, and they still don't fit super well.

I'm really excited for shorts weather! We're going to Mexico next week and wearing disposables and I just figured out he can still fit into his 0-3mo Old Navy swim trunks, and all his 3-6mo shorts.

I have the same problem with dd! Pants are either too short but fit in the waist, or the right length but fall off her butt. She's a skinny minny with long legs!

I have the same problem with Blake. I generally opt for going a size down. They will be short and a little tight around his waist, but then they won't slip down and trip him while he's cruising the furniture. It looks a little ridiculous, but I just put socks on when it's cold and his ankles are covered. Also when I put him in shoes (soft soles) it helps keep his pants from falling over his feet so he can wear a more appropriate size. In the meantime, poor kid is rocking the hipster pants - above the ankle skinny jeans!

I go by the waist measurement because my guys are chubby. But then the legs are way too long so I roll them when I can. Honestly, I don't think boys look that great until they can walk.

Don't laugh but I think I'm doing this wrong.

Pants either don't have a high enough rise but the legs are too long (Carters 12m) or have a gigantic waistband but the legs are too short (Gap 6-12m). He has one pair of pants that sort of fits well, a pair of J.Crew sweatpants in 3-6m that has a high rise but are capri length on him now. Which measurement am I supposed to go by? Am I expecting the waist to be too high? If they aren't high enough they fall off when he sits. :bummed: And if they aren't long enough DH manages to pull the cuffs up to his thighs, so I just can't win.
