It could mainly be a work schedule or planning issue for many parents. Some parents come out for certain events but not others because of scheduling. </p> <p>Right now, DH is chaperoning a fieldtrip on a day that's good for him but that's it for this year so far. I'm off on a year long mat leave so I have the time but have to pick and choose because of the baby. We haven't been offered opportunities to volunteer in the classroom other than field trips. To be honest, I SAH but I have a 2-year-old and it's not always easy to volunteer during the day because often the volunteer slots conflict with the 2-year-old's preschool drop-off/pick-up or I can't bring the toddler to the elementary school event and we don't have a daytime babysitter. I am specifically interested in elementary school, not daycare or preschool, so kinder (JK,TK included ) and up.</p> <p>I am curious, as it seems that I see the same moms over and over again at the school and I am wondering if there is a way we can get other parents involved. </p>
