I am 17 weeks and I wake up multiple times a night, often with weird dreams. It started a few weeks ago. I am usually so exhausted that I fall asleep pretty quickly but sometimes have a hard time falling back to sleep.

34 weeks on Friday, and I'm still sleeping okay. Most nights I can sleep through the night, I toss and turn to get comfortable but it doesn't wake me up. I did have to get up and pee this morning at like 3 am, I really hope that doesn't mean it's starting already!

I'm having similar sleep problems! I'm 13 weeks, and this has only started in the last week or so. I'll fall asleep pretty early for me (around 8 or 9pm), but then wake up around 1 or 2am for no apparent reason (no bathroom trip, no heartburn, no muscle pain, etc.) and not be able to fall back asleep for hours. I'll be tired the whole time, but just unable to sleep.

I'd love to hear any suggestions anyone has!

I fall asleep quickly esp on nights I take my b6/unisom dosage for nausea. But I almost always wake an hour or two before the alarm w low back pain. Def different than last pregnancy! Hoping it passes soon. I've been getting 7 or so hours so not too bad.

@FliegepilzHut: definitely sounds familiar! Unisom became my best friend for a little while. It made me feel groggy in the morning so I took half of one. It only lasted a couple of weeks, but I remember hating it. I also thrive off of 8+ hours! I'm 19 weeks now and sleeping like a rock without the unisom!

I'm still really nauseous so sleep is the best part of my day. I think between LO 1s wakeups And my peeing, I wake up 3-4 times a night but sincey husband is the one actually dealing with LO I feel as good as can be expected while this sick.

Poorly! I wake up every few hours to pee or because of heartburn. The pillow helps a lot, but sometimes I still shift in my sleep and wake up realizing I'm flat again.

I've been surprised by how bad my sleep already is in the first trimester. I've been compensating by going to sleep earlier at night, but I'm still exhausted. It seems like I have a few rough nights and then a good night or two, and then start the cycle all over again.

I prefer sleeping on my stomach and at almost 12 weeks I haven't converted fully to sleeping on my side. Laying on my stomach isn't too uncomfortable yet and helps me at least get some rest. I'm dreading when that's no longer possible.

@FliegepilzHut: Not currently pregnant (11 weeks pp so my sleep sucks anyway!), but wanted to chime in about pregnancy sleep! I never had the famed exhaustion of the first trimester-didn't have to nap once. On the flip side, I had terrible insomnia during the first trimester. I'd get up to use the bathroom and would toss and turn. Luckily, sleep got better for me in the second trimester, and was actually okay in the third. I'd invest in a full, u-shape pregnancy pillow early on if you can. I like the Leachco one. Congrats again on a healthy pregnancy!!!

That's how I was with LO1. This time around I have a toddler and I'm still consistently working out so I'm actually sleeping better than I ever have this time around! lol if I do happen to wake up for something other than going to the bathroom, I do have a hell of a time getting back to sleep though.

So this is my first foray into the this stage of pregnancy (currently at 12weeks)...and for the last 6 days, I've only been able to sleep more than 4 consecutive hours once. And once I wake up, I'm unable to get back to sleep for hours, if at all. Sometimes I have a grumbling stomach and a snack helps...but not always. And my usual "happy place" is somewhere close to 9-10 hours per night, no insomnia (but routinely 7 hours on work days).

How is your sleep right now? Does any of this sound familiar? If this doesn't get better soon, I guess I'm just prepping for when baby gets here. :meh:
