I clean the bathrooms, tidy, do laundry, dust/vacuum, plan the menu, water the plants, tend the roses, etc. He pays the bills, cuts the grass, general handy things, does dishes most of the time, and usually takes the garbage/recycling out. Let's see: We both work full time. I take care of most of the finances, DH pays a couple of the bills direct from his account. I do most of the dog care including poop scooping the yard. I do all cleaning - with the exception about about two loads of washing up per week and the odd spurt of laundry (if I've slacked a bit and he's run out of socks). We share the cooking and do the grocery shopping together. I do all the gardening (and I can't keep up). We look after our own cars. DH does a lot of DIY - I help where I can (but I'm awful at it). I do moan about it, really. I feel like I'd like him to do more around the house. I mean, DH would do anything I asked of him (except the gardening or poop scooping, they're a no-no) but he does have to be asked, usually, and I tend to work myself into a strop before asking (which results in an argument). He shovels the walk and takes care of car stuff. I do the rest of the housework and cook, we both take care of the girls pretty much equally and I do more in the garden (because it's food related maybe?) but he helps. When we both worked and didn't have kids it was a bit different, but I'm fine doing all the cooking now because I love it, and I see the housework as kind of my job. Oh and I take care of the cat. When I was pregnant and he had to do it, it was so irritating for both of us (he would procrastinate, it would stink etc). I really have no problem with gender roles here (although I'm so glad he helps with dishes) as I've never mowed a lawn in my life and am clueless about vehicles. I help weed sometimes. He also does the dishes and vacuums when the dog hair bothers him. I cook and do laundry. We both take care of the dogs and cat. I may be a SAHM but I feel like it's a full time job too and I really appreciate the help and effort from DH. We take turns doing kitchen/dishes/sweeping. I usually clean the bathrooms, but he would if I asked him to. We share laundry - I usually do mine and he does his. Now that we're in an apartment I may end up doing most of it. Today was laundry day and while DS napped we folded laundry and watched TV haha fun ;) We also share cooking responsibilities. I don't care if they are pretty, they are still bugs and I don't want them to touch me! For chores, since I SAH for now, I do most of the household chores. DH does yardwork (lawns, weeding gardens, pooper scooping) and handy work around the house. He also cooks breakfast on weekends and cleans up after dinner every night. I do laundry, floors, dusting, vacuuming, bathrooms and stuff like that. Plus meal planning, all of the grocery shopping and I pay all of our bills. We *do* have a cleaning lady coming every other week now, starting this week, so I am hoping that will help! He mows the yard, washes the dog & clips her toenails, and takes care of the pool and changes the oil in our cars. Sometimes he runs the sweeper. We try to swap cooking & cleaning up after dinner. DH takes care of the dishes, trash, morning walk with dog and sometimes afternoon one (if I'm cooking), and tends to be more of a general tidy-er than me. This is what I usually do: All laundry, vaccuming, car maintenance (meaning, I'm the one responsible for taking it in for OTHER people to maintain...lol) DH does everything else, which he is fine with since he actually likes to clean! Weeeeirdo!! lol. I really appreciate it, though. We rent, so there's no yardwork. Edit - I should mention that I do all meal-planning and cooking, too. He does the yardwork, vacuums and steam cleans the carpets. He also takes care of the dogs most of the time. We share dishes, cleaning the kitchen and taking out the trash.
