The last little trip we went on to visit my BFF she was TERRIBLE and I was by myself - I basically couldn't hang out with my friends either night after bedtime because she kept waking up and I finally just had to go to sleep with her (fitfully all night). But this was on the heels of a sleep regression and she wasn't being great sleeping at home either. She is sleeping better now again but I am still scared for our next trip!

No so good. It is usually a little harder to get DS down to sleep at night, and then he will almost always wake up in the night and end up in bed with us.

Naps are hit or miss. Sometimes with all the excitement of travel he just has a hard time settling down.

We just got back from a trip last weekend. He did not nap well in the car because he woke up when we slowed down or stopped. He slept like a champ in the hotel because we were upgraded to a 2 room suite

ugh we have issues with sleep during travel. all of the below trips have been for a week or more and she sleeps in a baby bjorn travel light crib + marpac dohm + her own room.

at 7 months, horrible sleep (night wakings, generally crabby but maybe dealing with a cold). At 10 months horrible sleep (night wakings and waking super early). At 1 year horrible sleep (SUPER EARLY, as in 2-3+ hour early wakings the entire week during what should have been a nice Caribbean vacation.

At this point I'm at a loss and scared to travel. Maybe its the baby bjorn?

DS usually doesn't sleep well the first night and then he adjusts and sleeps well the rest of the trip. My kid loves his sleep though.

Usually good. We also get a suite so he has his own room... Usually ends up being the room with the bed and we sleep on the pull out!!

At my moms he has a crib and sleeps good.

my daughter slept HORRIBLY when we traveled. she's normally a great sleeper, but she'd wake up every hour or two in hotels. around a year things got WAY better, and now she does fine. she normally wakes up a little earlier than normal, but I'll take it compared to how it used to be!

When they were little, it was harder, especially with my son. Now that they are both older, they usually sleep pretty well unless there is a jet lag factor.

Generally it's a sh!tshow, except at my parents' home for some reason. It really takes the fun out of travelling for me.

Um, terrible. We're dealing with it right now. At home she goes to bed on her own and sleeps through the night. Here she gets hysterical as soon as we start her routine and then wakes up multiple times at night. I hope she figures it out soon, because we'll be away from home for most of the summer!

They don't sleep well away from home at all. I usually end up sleep-nursing them both in bed while DH tries to sleep in the sliver of bed that's left. When we are at the ILs' house, we also have our dog trying to sleep on top of me too.

We've traveled in the past and really didn't have any issues, but this past weekend, we had some trouble.

Babies are 8 months and are teething. During road travel they do pretty well (they sleep... thankfully). This past weekend, we took the ferry and I think they didn't get their naps in and were tired and cranky.

I guess we know for next time. Plan for naps (or stroller naps) or prepare for cranky babies.

I assume things will get worse when they get older and start fighting sleep.
