I'm keeping the closet in the nursery for my things, so all the baby clothes are in a dresser. The dresser has 4 drawers.

1. cloth diapers (newborn size) and burp cloths
2. newborn clothes
3. 0-3 clothes
4. baby carriers, second set of sheets and changing pad cover.

All the one size diapers and larger clothes and in a large plastic tub stored in the garage. I plan on cycling it out as baby grows.

@travellingbee: haha DS's nursery is the only super organized space in my house. I wish I could get the rest of my house to look like this.

@allison: thank you! Yes, they pretty much always look like that because I'm a nut who enjoys folding baby clothes. I'm a little anal with keeping the nursery organized. If only the rest of my house was like that.

@mrskc: this is the most impressive baby clothes organization I've ever seen! Do those drawers always look like that, or was this done like this just the first time?

I use 4 regular sized drawers and one little tiny drawer for DS.
1. Tees and onesies
2. Rompers, overalls, and sleepers
3. blankets and swaddles
4. next size up stuff
5. socks, hats, babylegs (in the tiny drawer)

I put all the too-small stuff in a big bin in our closet. He doesn't have a closet, and I don't hang any of his stuff up.

@sslm: We do the same. Only clothes that he fits in go in the dresser and our are organized nearly identically! We keep burp cloths and bibs in the living room where we need them constantly!
@mrskc: @LemonLong: Um, these are AMAZING! Please please come organize my life!!!!

We hang tops and rompers, and use a couple drawers for clothes too.

The top drawer is diapers, burp cloths (don't use anymore), sleep sacks, PJs. The second is shorts/skirts/pants and headbands/accessories/socks.

Edit to add... When dd was that little we had a lot of new stuff hanging up for later. Plus used a whole drawer for onesies and moved sleep sacks out and kept diapers somewhere else.

Wow! People are Or-Gan-Ized. We fold (I use this term loosely) and put everything in drawers. Only heavy winter stuff gets hung up. My husband thought I was nuts for having not mixing the t-shirts and the onesies in the drawer. For that matter, he didn't understand why the onesies/shirts had a separate drawer from the pants. I'm going to show him this!

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: here is the closet all filled in. My LO is 9 months now and there's still a ton of room for her stuff. The big bins on top hold extra blankets, sheets, and clothes she has yet to grow into. The sliding drawers hold socks/tights/accessories, baby towels and washcloths, sleep sacks, and extra packs of diapers, wipes, and diaper genie refills.

Edited to add that I'm lazy so I don't fold the clothes in the bins. None of her clothes really wrinkle so I don't worry about it.

I have a nursery organization post on my blog. I used the ikea boxes which I know you say won't fit. I had clothes divided by size and then type. I had newborn clothes in the top drawer and 0-3 month in the second drawer. I divided them by long sleeved onsies, short sleeved onsies, sleepers, socks, bibs, hats, baby legs. I like folding then verticle so I don't have to go digging for a specific piece. I had burp cloths and other supplies in baskets under the changing table. I only hung up jackets and sweaters and nicer shirts. I have a ton of extra felt hangers I could sell you if you're interested.

I agree that within arms reach socks and pjs should be kept.

Other then that we put stuff in drawers. At first it was by "outfit" but over time it has seperated to pants in one drawer, shirts in another, swim suits and accessories in the last, and nice outfits and dresses are hung.

@MrsTiz: Do you have a HomeGoods? I was just at ours yesterday and they had some of the most adorable baby hangers. I didn't see any like the ones @oliviaoblivia: posted at ours, but they had a bunch of other felted hangers....these super cute ones that had "baby" written in script inside and some that were stacking, as well as regular ones. They were $5.99/10 pack.

I have 3 drawers on her dresser (w/ changing pad on top) and I bought some dividers from IKEA to help keep the sections w/in each drawer.
Top drawer: diapers, changing pad liners, burp rags, diaper cream
Middle drawer: Pants, swimsuits & PJs, onesies/tops
Bottom drawer: extra sheets, blankets, changing pad covers

I switch everything out ever couple of months as she would outgrow them.

WHen LO was a newborn, I had NB and 0-3 clothes in his dresser. All sleepers (his pajamas) were hung up in the closet, and clothes in bigger sizes were folded in hanging shelves in the closet. I also kept undershirts, socks, and burp clothes in the dresser (top drawer).

We had everything either in baskets under her changing table (the teeny tiny nb and 3mo things) and just laid flat in a hanging closet organizer. I didn't get her a dresser until she moved into slightly bigger clothes and I needed more room - around 9 months.

I keep everything in the closet. I have pants/shorts in the plastic bin (i've since bought pants hangers) and left to right is the smallest to largest. When she was newborn, it was just newborn on the left and 0-3M on the right. When she outgrew newborn, i dumped it into another bin on the floor (and subsequently moved it downstairs) and washed the 3M clothing and hung it next to the 0-3M clothing. Last month, I dug out some 3-6M clothing (dresses mostly, since those fit) and washed and hung those to the right. I have nothing in drawers except socks and swaddles.

I found that having things hung up didn't work for us, since I rarely grabbed an outfit before I took him to the changing table (which is really just the top of the dresser). So we just have a drawer of all currently sized clothes and we just grab and go. Everything that's too big is hung up, and what's too small is put away in the closet.

We only had 2 giant drawers and the one was strictly for cloth diapers :) (we bought the combo unit that matched the crib to use as a dressing table too instead of getting the dresser).

In his one big drawer we kept everything in his current size folded in little stacks. We had one for pants, onsies, sleep-n-plays, shirts, and gowns (NB stage). We also had 3 very tiny drawers which we used for socks, bibs/leg warmers and various baby supplies for diaper changes. We pretty much use the same system now and we only hung hoodies/jackets.

Since the plan is currently for LO's to be sharing the same room and set of drawers I think DS will continue to have a drawer and the baby's clothing will be hung. We have some of those closet organizers in there so I can add those little fabric bins to help store leggings and stuff. I will organize her clothing by size and type.

Sorry only have pic of the diaper drawer when he was little and the closest is currently storing a collection of things otherwise I'd snap pics.
