DD's an angel. But when she gets too playful - watch out! She's the type of kid that senior citizens find cute (while she's all giggling and being mischievous) ... all the while we have this look of dread and exhaustion.

He's fairly polite @ 2.5. Sometimes he needs reminding and lately (the past week or so!?) he has been really into talking over people if they're having a conversation.

I'm trying to figure out how to stop this but... not sure. lol

DS (2.5) is polite most of the time; he also likes to tell (boss) other people to be polite (ie. he'll tell me "thank you for cooking dinner, mama. and then, he'll look at DH and say: "dada, say thank you to mama.") It's pretty hilarious.

He still needs some prompting and we're working on yes maam and no maam; yes sir and no sir.

DS is 2.5 and it's hit and miss. However, if I give him a look like "what do you say...", he'll know what to respond with. He's been getting better at it though. Still needs a bit of prompting when it comes to strangers (like waitresses at restaurants).

My 20 month old is so polite! She says thank you all the time, and is now starting to pick up please as well.

Pretty well. At 2.5 we drill please and thank you. He says "no thank you" without prompting, but the use of please still needs prompting. He tries to be funny by putting his feet on the table, and we're working on that too.

Do they use manners without you having to prompt them, or are they not quite there yet?

My kids seem to use manners best when they are in good moods, or get what they want. I would say outside of that they use manners on their own about 40% of the time for my older and 20% of the time for my youngest. They are good about it if I remind them, though.
