Our house is on lockdown! Haha we have all the outlets covered, cords covered, cabinet/door locks, 3 baby gates, coffee tables are removed due to climbing, bookshelf has plexiglass covering it(due to climbing lol) the only thing we need to do is get doorknob covers, he's getting very close to opening the doors

Not very...outlet covers and bumpers on the corners of the baseboards, and one cabinet lock. Los two worst injuries were due to things that couldn't be baby proofed against, so I'm of the mind that I just always have to be within arms reach or so.

We only have outlet covers. From the time DS was mobile, I made it very clear what was off limits. I know it sounds crazy, but he understood and has always obeyed (stay out of the kitchen, don't go near the fireplace, don't touch our books on the bookshelf, etc.). He is almost 3 and we have never had any sort of incident.

Basically as babyproofed as we can get; there is a gate around the fireplace hearth, latches on the pantry and cabinets that have un-baby friendly things, gates on the stairs, and locks on the toilets/oven. Everything that is heavy is bolted to the wall. We have a ranch, and I SAH so I love being able to walk to the other side of the house and start lunch or laundry and it's up to him if he comes or stays.

Not enough...haha...Baby Brother is a little daredevil. In our next place I am buying only baby friendly furniture! We do have socket covers and cabinet locks and I put a pack n play to block the stairs because our gate is a PITA but man, if it's a potential hazard this kid finds it.

@looch: what did you do for cabinets? we're also in a rental so i don't want to drill holes into the cabinets, but i also don't know if the adhesive ones will leave a residue.

we haven't done anything yet--LO is only starting to cruise at this point. i did take household cleaners and sharp blades out from kitchen cabinets and put them out of reach.

what sharp corner covers are you using?

We did a lot, considering we were in a rental.

My main concern was a tile fireplace with multiple sharp edges, better safe than sorry in my book.

Now that DS is trying to run around the place, we try to contain him in the gated playarea we made for him in our basement.

however, he much prefers being out and about where the big ppl are. *SIGH*

we have our sharp corner covers, socket covers, door handle covers, a strip around the fireplace, gates at the bottom of the stairs... we need to put up the kitchen cabinet locks and are thinking of putting up gates at the top of the stairs, tho he's never there by himself-- i guess you can never be too safe with stairs.
