From the time DS was mobile, I made it very clear what was off limits. I know it sounds crazy, but he understood and has always obeyed (stay out of the kitchen, don't go near the fireplace, don't touch our books on the bookshelf, etc.). Everything that is heavy is bolted to the wall. In our next place I am buying only baby friendly furniture!
