We have a 3 bedroom 3 bath, around 2350 sf.
I love our house. I love the location most. Water view of the puget sound and on a couple acres. Its a custom built home and I love it...but I love the land and location and view even more.

Ours is 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1800 sq feet.

I did not want a huge house and I still don't, but boy it would be nice to have a basement or something for our treadmill, etc.

We just moved at the beginnin of the year. Our home is 3800 sq ft with 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 2 half baths, and a huge bonus room. This house would fit is forever. It has tons of storage, which is my favorite feature. We probably won't be in it forever though with the way my hubby's job works. It has felt way too big for us (our previous houses were 1900 sq ft) but I'm sure once the little man arrives it will fill up quickly!!

Ours is 1743 sqft built in 1915, not including the basement. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. I really love the size and floor plan but I feel once the to-be kids are older it will be a bit too small - especially if I get my way and we have three ;)

We plan on developing the attic for a play room for the kids, finishing the basement and adding an extra bath.

The things I feel our house lacks for us is a large backyard and a mudroom for a convenient place for dog dishes etc.

I love the location and can see us staying here for a long time, it was my husbands dream house.

@kjwinter: @cranberryapple: I win! ( I'm calling it a win or I might feel bad) but we live in a 2bed/1 bath bungalow that clocks in at around 600 sq ft and have lived here for 3.5 years.. Of course we'd like a little more space, but honestly, it's saved us so much money because I fill the space I live in to capacity. If we had more space, I'd buy more things. Now we're constantly getting rid of stuff and only buying things we love. My biggest issue is not having two bathrooms.

Once our little lady arrives, we'll assess the realities but DH is gone M-F for school and won't be done til April and we LOVE where we live so it would take a break down and something majorly awesome to get us to move in the next year.

Our house is about 1600 sq feet. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom bungalow. We will be finishing the basement, which is another 1500 square. The main issue right now is not a lot of store space. We built the house a year ago, so we should have thought of that. I just have wayyyyy tooo many clothes. If we have more than one kid we will likely need to upgrade.. but I do love the house/area so it will be a tough decision!

we have a 4 bedroom, 1.5 half bath with a pool. two rooms upstairs 2 down. The only reason we'd move is if we had another child (a 3rd) but that's not in the plan. Sure it would of been nice to have 3 bedrooms on the same floor, but I love having our bedroom downstairs and the kids upstairs.

@cranberryapple & @digapony - Oh no! You are not alone! Though our place is bigger now, we started out in a 2bd/1ba condo that was not quite 1000 sq.ft. It was a long-standing goal of mine to move into a single-family home with a garage before we had a baby, though we could have made do if we really needed to in the condo. Age and location have to be a big factor I would think too. (i.e. if you're in NYC vs. Texas)

@cranberryapple: You're not alone! We live in a 2 bed, 1 bath apartment that's 800ish square feet. We could definitely make it work if we're still living here when we're able to have a baby, but it would be a tight fit!

I always wonder, on threads like this, if ladies in smaller houses/apartments/condos aren't as likely to respond, which makes it look like everyone lives in a good-sized or large house.

Ours is a good size but too small for us.

It's 1620 sq ft 3 bdrm/2 ba. It's a cookie cutter house, I'd love to have a bigger more unique home but it works for now.
We have 4 kids in the house every other weekend!! DS has his own room, the girls share a room (7, 4, and 1) the older girls have a bunkbed, Maddy is in her crib still. It's not super cramped but nothing else will fit! Luckily we're renting, I would never buy this house!

Our family room is ginormous, living room/kitchen/dining room are fairly large too, it's the bedrooms that suffer!

Both kids bedrooms are 11x12
Master is 14x13 <--- Tiny!
Kitchen - 17x10
Family - 17x14
Living - 15x17

What we need is 2500 5 bdrm/3 ba. minimum. Hopefully that will happen pretty soon.

@cranberryapple: @kjwinter: We lived in a ~800sf apartment when our LO was born to 5 months old with a cat and a dog. It was in such a great location- we made it work. Now we have a 3/2, ~1500 sf house.

I'd love to upgrade at some point, but we are in such a good family neighborhood where people stay forever, so we'll see.

@cranberryapple: @kjwinter: We used to live in a 700-something sq ft 1 br/1 bath condo and were serious about having a LO there. At the time we were totally against moving out to the suburbs and houses in the city were so unaffordable! The funny thing is I never felt like it was small when we lived there.

Our is a townhouse, around 1650 square feet, 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths. In some ways I love our house - hard wood floors, granite counters, beautiful view of the Merrimack river, stainless appliances. But, I bough the house when I was single and it's just not practical for a family long term.

For one thing, it's 4 floors. The 1st is mostly just garage, and the top floor is a giant loft, accessible only from the master bedroom. I think there's probably 1/4 of our square footage up there. And the schools here are really bad. I work in an area where you can live close by if you're a millionaire, or live in a crappy area if you're not. Or you can commute an hour. I chose the nice house in the crappy area with a short commute.

I never want any bigger (or much bigger!) I grew up in 800 sq ft bungalow with 3 bed, 1 bath and DHs childhood home just a bit bigger than that.

I don't ever want to clean more bathrooms, and our lifestyle doesn't need the indoor space, we will be seeking more outdoor space in our next home!

@Mrs. High Heels: haha, i don't think you feel our pain if you have 2.5 baths! DH hates the fact that he has to go downstairs to pee, and wishes we had an ensuite. Our main bathroom is sooo small and cramped -- it's such a pain giving LO a bath...no room to move around.
