My doctor didn't give me an estimate for my son. She just kept telling me his head measured 2 weeks larger in proportion to his body. That totally freaked me out. He does have a big head. Of course I had convinced myself they were totally over-estimating because I'm very petite. </p> <p>In the hospital after she was born, every time someone came into my room they would look at her and say "wow, what a big baby." I was very against being induced, because I really did NOT want to deal with pitocin contractions and knew that it would be much harder to stay away from the epidural. I birthed my baby vaginally with no meds. A lot of doctors are scared of big babies being born vaginally because it takes longer, but it's definitely doable! When he was born, he was 8 lb 10 oz and was 2 weeks early.
