Of course I just should have stayed up from 4:30 on . . . when I woke up again (I stayed awake the whole time she was awake/fussing and then when back to sleep after she did) I felt suuuuuuuuper tired, way more tired than I was at 3:40. I think when he woke, it would keep him awake so I stopped turning it on. I think that if her nursery had been darker, that it might have been easier for her to fall back asleep . . . I have just been afraid of her waking up scared and alone in the dark! </p> <p>She has a lamp that has 2 small bulbs in it that can be turned on independently . . . so I have been turning on one side of the lamp and putting it on the floor beside her tall dresser (on the side of the dresser that is furthest from her crib) to keep it down as much as possible. Have you thought about muting the brightness by placing it behind furniture or in a different part of the room? </p> <p>@Smurfette: It's not necessary to have a night light, and they say that you probably don't need to consider it until they're 2+ when they experience nighttime anxiety. We turn the twilight turtle on at bedtime but that shuts off on it's own. Is yours darker/brighter? How bright is too bright? She seems to sleep just fine, but I wonder if it may contribute to not being able to go back to sleep if she wakes too early? </p>
