Ibuprofen (Motrin) has brought fever down for our toddler much quicker in our experience, so that's our first-line treatment. I often only need to give just one dose.

I gave infant Tylenol to our 4 month old recently because she spiked to 101.4 after receiving her shots. It was nervewrecking because of the new dosing guidelines (drug conccentration changes). I look forward to when she's six months and can take ibuprofen instead.

Charlie has been sick, so we've been giving him infant Tylenol when his fever spikes.

A friend of ours is much more strict about giving infant Tylenol, which I completely respect. It's just hard for me to do nothing when he's in such pain. We try to limit the infant Tylenol to times when Charlie is really in a lot of pain and with a high fever.

How careful are you with infant Tylenol? Do you have any alternative treatments you use when your LO is sick?
