I would announce after your next scan, let them have their baby, get settled, and then announce he will soon have a cousin to play with!

I wouldn't worry about when your SIL's baby comes. Just announce after your next scan!

I would wait until after the scan and the new baby has been home for at least a few days! Give them time to focus on that new little one for a bit. :)

I would wait until after your scan. Like others have said, since this is your second baby and since a birth is happening soon, it probably won't get the excitement of a first time announcement anyhow (though I'm sure folks will still be very excited).

My SIL told us she was pregnant while I was in the hospital after my son's birth, haha. I think my husband kind of drug it out of her when she was asking all sorts of very specific questions. It didn't offend me or make me feel like she was trying to take attention away from me (although I do think her plan was to tell me later).

I think the new baby will trump your news (so no real worry about thunder-stealing), so I think so long as you don't announce in her delivery room or the first time you meet the baby, you'll be fine.

i would just wait for the scan! if baby is really coming any day, i think the excitement would be "lost" in the shuffle of her going into labor.

DH and I have been waiting until our NT scan next week to tell our parents we're pregnant with #2. SIL could have her baby #2 any day now. She has a c section scheduled for two weeks from now so I pictured telling her over Thanksgiving and enjoying being pregnant together for a minute. Baby isn't following her plans or mine and it's looking like it will be sooner.

If my nephew comes before we share our news how long should we wait to tell brother and SIL?

(I know the easiest thing would be to tell now but we really want to wait for the next ultrasound. My parents are very first trimester superstitious and I can't deal with them any earlier than planned.)
