We just did one thing at a time until I was fairly certain we didn't have any allergies. I waited on acidic things, like tomatoes until much later, but started eggs earlier.

We tried to introduce one thing at a time. LO has had all the common allergens, except soy as we don't really ever eat it, without issue. Peanut butter is a firm favourite. The thinking out here now is that early exposure is beneficial, providing there is no family history of allergies.

Our doctor told us we could start with anything that's not on the "do not eat until their one" list, his example of food to start with was meatloaf. And he said we can start with 3 meals a day, and we don't have to give the same thing for 3 days.

Of course I did that anyway at first because it made me feel better, and we started with rice cereal and fruits and veggies, but now that she's onto finger foods I don't follow it as much.

We won't be following the typical solids rules at all. I don't plan of ever giving my LO rice cereal because I personally don't believe it's healthy for them or necessary.

I plan to start with foods like avocados and bananas. I don't really plan to follow the three day rule either. But of course I will avoid honey til a year old and nuts til 3 yrs old.

She had a bad bout of constipation so we ended up introducing new things to her really slowly. Now she pretty much has everything except nuts.

I gave LO her first taste at 4 months. Then again at 5 months. :) Gave her sweet potatoes first and didn't really follow the 3 day rule.

We followed the rules but if I had a #2, I probably wouldn't follow it as closely. I would just kind of assume that if #1 didn't have allergies then hopefully #2 doesn't either.

We did baby led weaning at 6 months. No uncultured dairy or wheat till she was 1 (or...close), because from what I've read they have trouble digesting it. Other than that we just let her go at it!

For months 6 and 7, I followed the rule of trying new things every few days. We started with fruits and veggies, though, not cereal. When she was 8 months, I introduced chicken. About a month ago, she had a terrible allergic reaction and I think it's either a fish or milk allergy and because I don't know, I'm unable to give her any dairy (like cheese) until her appointment with the allergist, which isn't for another 2 weeks.

Other than the allergy thing, I've been giving her anything except nuts and citrus.

We stayed away from the top 8 allergies because he had a milk soy issue.

As in introducing certain foods at certain times (meats, dairy, etc), giving a new food every 3 days to determine allergies, etc.

Olive has been eating chicken, turkey, fruits, veggies... something different every day. I'm pretty much going to let her have everything but nuts. The complete opposite of how we did things with charlie!

What is your solids game plan?
