If there were no bills or environment to worry about I'd keep the house at 80, that's my happy temp.

But we keep the house at about 62, it's not bad in long sleeves.

I think it depends on the house! Our old house was drafty with oil heat and with the thermostat set to 68 we still had to wear layers and bundle up. The house we live in now has a heat pump and 68 is perfectly comfortable. It's much better insulated.

pre preg i liked it at 72-74 (our house isn't very well insulated/heated 3000 sq ft) so those temps actually feel like 68.

right now... i like it at 68?... which means the house is probably 65 and dh is freezing :P

For now, we seem to be ok with it off most of the time. I usually crank it up to 69 or so before we go to sleep, then turn it off. This morning when I woke up it was 60, so I set it for 67. Yesterday it was 50 when I woke up! Brr.... But we just changed to our winter bedding, so we are nice and toasty. Once it truly gets cold, it will be at 66/67 when we are home, 55 when we are not.

in our last house, we used space heaters in the living room and bedroom and pretty much never turned the heat on. it was surprisingly toasty & nice on the heating bill. in our new house, though, hubs has already turned on the heat! if it's colder than 70, he freaks out. i could live in a 55 degree house! i love cold, and being bundled up in blankets.

I think below 65, but hubby thinks that's freezing so we keep our house at 72 during the winter, which is a lil cozy. Funny thing is, in the summer, the hubby keeps the house at 72 and I think it's freezing!!!

Last winter we didn't even turn our heat on :D and we live in new England so it gets coooold, but we live on the top floor of our building, so we get other ppl's heat. Year before we had thermostat set to 56. We don't have kids yet though, if we had a baby in the house I wouldn't keep it that low. I was so upset when I found out the gas company used an estimated usage amount rather than an actual reading when we had gone without using heat to save energy & $$! Shoulda just turned the damn heat on, we paid for it anyway! :/

We've been waking up to 67-68 the last few days and my feet are SO cold and I don't want to get out of bed. IDK if having all hardwood makes it seem colder though.

We have the heater at the new house set to 62. We found out what the bills were for the previous people and decided we were going to start out pretty spartan! 62 feels decently comfortable with a sweat shirt and a long sleeve with some slippers to round out the outfit. Sexy it ain't!
