@Mrs. D: I remember posting on your thread b/c I had just had my slip!

After a whiplash injury a little over a year ago ibuprofen became my friend when I had a flare up b/c it was the only thing that would help the inflammation... other than steroids. And I feel bad taking tylenol since it doesn't seem to relieve anything... but still puts all those chemicals in me. =/ Oh the things we endure for our children... BEFORE THEIR EVEN HERE! lol

@Mrs. D: I wish mine was only after sitting! I thought that may be what was aggravating it but walking only made it worse. Apparently I'm supposed to take "small steps" and keep my pelvis aligned (so laying on my side with a pillow between my legs and knee even together).

Hopefully it's what I think it is and an alignment will fix it. And I have quite a bit more than 9 weeks... from what I read, if it is a pelvic alignment issue and it's not fixed it can cause a vaginal delivery to be "out the window".... I'll see a chiropractor every week for the next 15 if I have to! lol

thanks for letting me rant though. I'm usually a trooper about pain but this is stinking killer! Oh how I miss ibuprofen right now! bwhaha

that sounds EXACTLY with what I've been dealing with since I ran to catch the bus a few weeks ago.
When I'm walking around pretty constantly it doesn't bother me, but when I've been still for awhile, like sleeping, when I try to get up and/or rearrange myself, it makes itself known.
I talked my doctor about it, and theres not a lot that I can do, beyond, "taking it easy". Grr... only 9 more weeks!

I'm sorry you hurt yourself! That's definitely not fun.
I think it's because when you try to do nothing and just relax, your brain has time to start making to-do lists and focusing on all the stuff that you "should" be doing.
Try to let it go and just rest :)

So a little over a week ago I had a slip and pulled my groin. I brushed it off, but looking back it was pretty bad. I slipped in the grocery store on something on the ground and almost ended up in a full split... 6 mths pregnant mind you. So I was kind of sore for a few days but didn't think anything of it.

Then 2 1/2 days ago I started having some pretty bad hip pain. Not like sciatica b/c I've had that but just right in the lower back/hip area and around my leg. Then yesterday I go to get out of bed and I almost can't even stand!

I did everything I knew to relieve it: hot shower while leaning forward, stretching, tylenol, heating pad, laying on side, etc, and NOTHING was helping.

Well I saw another mom in another forum post about Pelvic Girdle Pain and what she was describing sounded JUST like what I was feeling. So I looked it up briefly, since I know Dr. Google is a scary scary man, and found that injury of "opening the thighs too fast" can actually cause this and it's from overly stretching the symphysis pubis muscle.

I of course let my midwife know as soon as I thought it was more than just normal pregnancy issues and so now I'm told to "take it easy" try and avoid the stairs and be mindful of my movement and ALL I can think about is the dishes in the sink, my clothes that need to be hung, and the things here and there that need to be put up. In all actuality I couldn't do them if I tried b/c I really am in that much pain but it's really irking me! I have an appt with a chiropractor tomorrow to rule out any real problem but until then I feel like ranting! lol

Any other pregnant mommas have issues with taking it easy when they really need to?
