I also don't feel that I am able to diversify enough, to spread out my risk. That way I can spread my risk and get exposure to an index or a commodity without having to purchase single securities myself. Whoops.</p> <p>A few years ago I did open a brokerage account through my bank and bought stock in Sun Trust, Regions Bank and Olin Corp.
