The best advice I've heard is when they bite to completely break contact and put them down. Say "no biting" and then wait a second (they will likely be crying) and re-latch. DS bit me only a couple of times.

The best thing about nursing through teething was that he got SO much comfort when he was in pain. It helped more than anything else we tried.

When LO's bottom front teeth started breaking through I could feel them scraping my nipple as he nursed. I was really worried that was how it was going to be from then on because it was really uncomfortable. But once he got used to the teeth, he stopped that.

He also used to bite me a lot but only rarely bites me now. His top front teeth are starting to break through now and I have seen no difference in his nursing.

LO got her two bottom teeth at 5 months and her latch was all screwy. She would scrape her bottom teeth against me and she bit me a few times, but she learned. At first I would yell in pain and try to pull away but that would just scare her more and she'd sometimes clamp down even more. Now I just press my breast into her face to cut off her breathing a bit and she releases the breast to breathe.

She got her top 2 teeth last week and I was scared, but I haven't felt them at all on my breasts, so far so good.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be! I made sure to unlatch her when she looked distracted!

It isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. So far (4 teeth) I've been bitten worse before he got teeth. I've had a top tooth mark once, but it was a terrible latch. Once we re-latched everything was fine.

His latch did change after he got teeth, so we had to work on a better latch just like early on. I was sore for a couple days, but it worked out fine.

Liv is 16 months and Ive only been bitten once that I can remember. She was frustrated that it was coming too slowly and bit. I shouted and she cried, but she got over it quickly. Honestly now she has 4 bottom teeth and 3 top, and it doesnt feel any different. Her tongue covers the bottom ones, and her top ones leave cute little beaver impressions (lol as cute as teethmarks on a boob can be anyways) but I dont feel them at all.

My LO is 9 months and he only has his two bottom teeth so far. He's bitten me twice and both times resulted in me yelping and him crying. I think both times he was done nursing and was just sort of playing even though it wasn't my idea of fun! It hasn't happened in awhile so i'll keep my fingers crossed that that's the end of biting!

She has bit me about twice, once was really hard and it was because she was frustrated because there was low supply.

Now she has 5 front teeth and 4 molars and there isn't a problem!

The best thing you can do is just try and see how it goes!

olive bites me when she's teething. and then when i tell her to stop, she cries as if she's the victim haha!

yes i've had bite marks and yes there have been a couple of times she's bitten me really hard. but considering how many times we nurse, she is pretty good about not biting me.

To be honest, I'm scared. When we started this journey, I told myself I would stop breastfeeding when she got teeth. Now I can't imagine stopping but, I'm afraid to be bit! She already has a bad habit of pinching me while she eats, now I am going to get teeth marks in my nipples? Someone tell me it will be okay or suggest how to get through it? :)
