I don't think they actually "saw" any dead people. It was just David, I agree that it was his way of coping with the events happening in his life. He was "talking" with the dead people and it was therapeutic for him. So they wrote an amazing ended and didn't drag it out to squeeze more cents out which always just ends in pissing off the fans! They really didnt know much about the people they were working with other than how they died and they related that to what was going on in their lives. Like they found it therapeutic. The series finale of that show was one of the best finales I've ever seen. Can't remember if Claire did. But Nate always saw the dad but David typically saw all the dead people he embalmed. The mom would occasionally see dead people if she went downstairs.</p> <p>I don't think you ever really know if it's all in their head or not.
