@Foodnerd81: well she is sleeping just fine but in the mornings and at nap times she is pulling herself up on the rail and walking up it with her feet on the slats...if she gets a good footing she'll be able to put one leg over. She spent the whole of today's "nap time" jumping and trying to climb :(

Is she actually trying to climb out? C is a big time climber and probably could climb out, but never has for some reason.

However we are in the process and switching to the big bed because her sleep has been terrible, fighting bedtime and waking up super early. There was already a queen size bed in her room where dh or I would lay down with her when she woke up in the motn and she always wanted to be in it.

So the other night, she wasn't sleeping or settling down so I talked to her about sleeping in the big bed, she has to stay in the bed all night and wait for mommy or daddy to come get her in the morning when she wakes up. And she slept great that night! But she tried to climb out in the morning and got fell and got scared. Since then bedtime takes longer but she does stay in the bed, but sometimes scoots to the edge and sits there until we come back in and lay her down. But she's sleeping better at night it seems, and since we need the crib for the next baby early next year, we are going with it. She still naps well in the crib though. Little weirdo.

So I would say if she is sleeping well and not actually trying to climb out, leave her be!

I really thought we would get a lot more mileage out of the cot this time around but as LO is almost able to climb out, I think it's time to take the sides off and convert it into the toddler bed this weekend.

Although she is 22 months, she's still sleeping in a sleep sack, so I presume it will be easier if we try and do a couple nights of her sleeping with a duvet in the cot before we take the sides off, right? Just so it's not 2 changes at once.

Also, please reassure me she won't stay up all night rearranging her bookshelves or something!
