We sent it to them and had them watch it while we were on the phone with them. So sweet and so much fun to experience their reactions, even with many miles between us!</p> <p>This time we did face-time with them and had our daughter wearing a "Best Big Sister" shirt... waited for them to notice! Gave my mom a "grandma's brag book" and then gave my dad a frame. Extended family found out through word of mouth after 12 weeks. We didn't tell dh's parents until we miscarried at 6.5 weeks.</p> <p>For the second, it was just phone calls to my parents at 7 weeks, after seeing the heartbeat. For dh's parents, we waited until 12 weeks bc we would be seeing them in person. We said, "Well, the bad news is, we won't be seeing you again until most likely January or February. Sadly, we lost that one just a few days before my birthday, so they found out via phone call when I was in the ER waiting for surgery. I found this poem "from baby", printed it up on nice paper, framed it and put it under the tree as part of our Yankee swap gift exchange. I had hoped to be able to do this with an ultrasound photo, but I didn't get one until a few days later. My MIL ended up opening it, which was perfect (and she still has it up in their den). I called my dad and stepmom after my first ultrasound. </p> <p>#2: We told my ILs on Mother's Day. We got her a card, and wrote something along the lines of "To the best Nana of *6* grandchildren" (E is #5 :silly: ) and then when she was reading it E ran in wearing a Big Brother shirt. I took a picture of him wearing it to text to D's other siblings.
