I had a c-section, and being able to stay upright was really helpful. It was also nice to not have to totally rush my shower since she quite liked the water as long as she was in the wrap. I'm not sure if it would work very well without a detachable shower head, but we already had one. That made it easier to make sure the water went where I wanted it to and not in her face. We never used the laundry tub for anything else so it worked perfectly.
