The sleep deprivation wasn't too bad for the first 3 months.. I think I was still going off of new mommy adrenaline.
Now I take naps when I need to and sleep when the baby sleeps.
When I have baby #2 I'm definitely going to hire a nanny to help out so I can catch some zzzs when I need to.

I definitely slept when the baby slept. I went to bed right after I put her to bed, probably around 8 pm, so I never felt all that tired. However, with 2+ kids, that would be harder to do....will have to figure that out when it comes to that time ...

The first few weeks, I slept when my LO slept whenever I could. The first two months, I made it a point to take at least one nap during the day. Afterwards, my body just kinda got used to the constant broken sleep. Then we sleep trained her and things got significantly better.

I wish there was a secret formula to help deal with sleep deprivation. I don't remember the last time I had a full 8 hour stretch of sleep. :(

I don't think there is a secret. I think we all (moms of 1, moms of 2, moms of 19) just deal with it until all the kids are in school and sleep "normal" hours at night. There are days, though, where I'm just hanging by a single thread and cry tears of helplessness. But then there are days where I say to myself, "Hm, today wasn't too bad."

I still think everyday, 'I'm going to take a nap today, I have to take a nap.' It hasn't happened. I've just forced myself to operate on less sleep. And coffee.

I don't have any tips. Just that we got through it.
Being able to nap helped though. Don't know if you are able to nap.

Yelling at my husband. Works every time! Just kidding... kind of. Honestly I just make it through one day at a time, thinking, if we can just make it to 6 weeks...8 weeks... 12 weeks... small goals. And reading lots of fun new books. I save those for nighttime feedings so have something to look forward to when I wake up 57 times every night

My son was born on October 1st and the sleep deprivation is really brutal! My husband and I try to take turns taking naps during the day when we can but that only works on days when we have free time which is rare! The only thing that has kind of helped is going to bed much earlier to try and fit in as many longer stretches as I can.
It's very hard on both of us and definitely a huge adjustment- I miss my sleep!

I think this is one of the hardest parts of having kids! Just always being tired...

I keep thinking there must be some secret that I'm missing...

How do you manage the constant lack of sleep?
