I realized after I did it that, in reality, all i needed to do was safety pin some ribbon to the crib skirt and stretch the ribbon over the bottom of the crib and safety pin to the other side, I ended up with about 3 pieces of ribbon going across the long part of the crib, and once piece attaching the head and the foot of the crib (skirt). I sew, but sometimes when I don't feel like getting my machine out, I break out the heat-n-bond. Its pretty cheap (like 2 or 3 dollars a roll) and you just iron it onto your fabric, then fold it over, iron again and you have a perfect, no sew, seam! </p> <p>I made my own crib skirt (i saw this one on pottery barn kids that I really liked. it was a white tiered, ruffle one-but it wasnt as long as I wanted) and found that it was pretty easy to do (and didn't take much time at all). I just couldn't rationalize spending the money on it (it was a little less than 200$). The only parts that came in the set that I would have actually used would have been the sheet, and the dust ruffle. The dust ruffle is just pretty, not totally necessary, the bumpers are considered dangerous now, and the comforter would have been used more as decor than bedding.
