This is our first IUI cycle and I haven't document any of it really... I don't know how or what to document? My doctor's office isn't overly vocal about sizes of follicles, etc.

I have been thinking about this as I am starting our first IVF cycle. I am on BCP but I am going to take pictures of my meds when they come this week. I don't know why, I just kind of want to document it a little bit.

I've journaled in some way for my whole journey. I love data and info, and at the beginning I desperately needed someone to talk to, and only had myself (DH wasn't in a place where we could talk about it, and honestly a lot of times the journal is still easiest to talk to).

I have a private blog on blogger - easy to use - that I've used since 2010 when we started trying for #1. I write when I feel like it, and can be as rambling as I want about feelings. but I've also gone back a ton of times to check symptoms in past cycles, refresh my mind about meds, etc.

I haven't done many photos, but I think that's because I haven't done IVF or injectibles where you had stuff to photograph. I have taken photos of all my BFPs (many in my case, and many that didn't work out).

when trying for #2 I started a journal for cycles where I write out what I am doing that cycle and when, and also include all the tests I take (OPKs for a natural cycle or trigger testing for IUIs). I do a lot of test comparing to past cycles, especially having my chemical pregnancy issue. I still do the online journal as well.

I don't know what I will ever do with any of this, it's mostly just been helpful in the moment. the online journal especially - there are a lot of things you feel too ashamed/guilty to talk about even on hellobee, and yet it's still helpful to get those things out.

So if anyone is interested, there's a journaling app called Day One. I think I got the app for free for some reason. It didn't last on my phone because I was never good any type of journaling.

But maybe if I remember to journal my IF journey, it might motivate me.

I think taking pictures is a great way! During my IUIcycles I would take pictures of my wrist band with date and such!

I also use an App from freedom pharmacy that had a med/apt calwnder and I could add notes and such!

Now I have a kindle app on my phone and read a book that has 30 ways to pray I can add notes so when a milesone happens that day or the prayer speaks to me I make a note, almost like a diary!

I use my iPeriod app and HB posts to remember things.

I should start taking pictures.

So I just thought of something, would it be weird to create an IF book or album? Since IF is such a part of me, I kinda don't want to forget it. Not that I think I would but my bad memory will probably come into play.

Yeah, there are things that I will probably be embarrassed and ashamed about when I look back at how bitter I was/am about IF.

I never did that with our IVF cycle, but that is a great idea! I think I was just so overwhelmed by the amount of meds, syringes and everything else that I didn't think to take any pictures or journal about it. But we did keep the embryo photos which I love to look at still!

Perhaps I'll keep track of our upcoming IVF cycle in June.

@Leialou: I took pictures of everything (first BCP, the shipments of meds, DH measuring out the shots, etc) and journaled. Sometimes the journaling was more emotional stuff and sometimes it was just what meds we did each night and how I felt physically each day. I have no idea what I'll do with the pics and journal in the long run but it was therapeutic to do it each day. I am rooting for you and this cycle so much!

I kept a blog...and it's been really fun to go back and read some of my posts from a couple of years ago. You can make a private blog if you just want a dedicated space to keep your pictures and any random thoughts...

I meant to do that with my IVF cycle but didn't get much further than the photo of the meds and some photos from my retrieval. And the embryos. So I guess I did hit the highlights!

A few minutes ago I gave myself my first injection of my current cycle. Before I did I lined up my meds on the counter and took a couple of photos. I think I'd like to document this cycle with photos. Is that weird? Has anyone documented their cycle with photos or by journaling? I'm going to have DH take some photos of me giving myself shots, getting my blood drawn, and on transfer day. If I get pregnant I'll show them to my LO one day. If not, idk what I will do with them. Maybe just delete them. This is probably my last cycle TTC, so I just want to remember it.
