If she hadn't sent me I'm sure I would have gone into labor on my own shortly thereafter. I was dilated to 5cm at 38+6 (1st baby too!) I was 3cm dilated for a month tho prior to that. When my doc told me I was 3 at 35 weeks I was so excited and DH and o just knew we would have a baby soon. Prior to that I felt a lot of pressure and had lots of Braxton Hicks. I lost my mucus plug and had my bloody show on a Monday and my water broke at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday. On Tues, was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced and baby is at the -1 position meaning LOW and ready to go....it's now Thurs and no labor. I did have some spotting after my appt, but I think due to the exam. I have had more mucous lately but nothing that makes me think I lost my mucous plug. I think at the end the crampiness and pressure is par for the course. Totally didn't expect to wake up to contractions at 2am! I was 2 days past my due date so I knew I would go into labor soon, but I felt great. Dilation doesn't mean much by itself as to whether labor is close. It really did feel so so so crampy. Ever since the Dr checked me I have been feeling different. I have a lot more pressure, I'm pretty sure that I lost my mucas plug (or just had a lot of bloody show at one time) and have generally more pressure and period like cramping. I swear I feel like labor is coming on, but as the day goes on I keep second guessing it! I was also checked last week, and wasn't dilated and didn't have any of these feelings after. Does it sound like labor to you ladies?
