The day my doctor sent me to L&D I felt like poop. If she hadn't sent me I'm sure I would have gone into labor on my own shortly thereafter. I was dilated to 5cm at 38+6 (1st baby too!) I was 3cm dilated for a month tho prior to that. When my doc told me I was 3 at 35 weeks I was so excited and DH and o just knew we would have a baby soon. Hopefully your labor will start sooner than mine did.

I felt normal until I started getting contractions, which came pretty quick. Good luck!

I had my first real contraction on a Sunday, 2 days before I delivered and then they came sporadically. Prior to that I felt a lot of pressure and had lots of Braxton Hicks. I lost my mucus plug and had my bloody show on a Monday and my water broke at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

I never knew if I was dilated or not.

Probably not helpful, but I'm 37+4 and since last Saturday....lots of pressure, cramping and some sporadic contractions. On Tues, was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced and baby is at the -1 position meaning LOW and ready to go....it's now Thurs and no labor. I did have some spotting after my appt, but I think due to the exam. I have had more mucous lately but nothing that makes me think I lost my mucous plug. I think at the end the crampiness and pressure is par for the course. But things can change on a drop of a hat, so you never know!

I didn't feel any different before going into labor.
Totally didn't expect to wake up to contractions at 2am! I was 2 days past my due date so I knew I would go into labor soon, but I felt great.

Maybe the doctor stripped your membranes and that could be why you feel different since you were checked.

I was dilated to 1 at 37 weeks and then stuck at 1.5 until I was induced at 40w 5d. Dilation doesn't mean much by itself as to whether labor is close. The bleeding could be show, but it could also be from your exam yesterday.

For me, I knew I was in labor when I felt my first "real" contraction.... It really did feel so so so crampy. I did lose the plug and bloody show before then but I heard u can lose it weeks before labor...

I went to the Dr yesterday for my 37 week checkup and I am dialated 1cm (yay!). Ever since the Dr checked me I have been feeling different. I have a lot more pressure, I'm pretty sure that I lost my mucas plug (or just had a lot of bloody show at one time) and have generally more pressure and period like cramping. I swear I feel like labor is coming on, but as the day goes on I keep second guessing it!

I was also checked last week, and wasn't dilated and didn't have any of these feelings after. Does it sound like labor to you ladies?
