I have a lot of co-workers that have BIG gaps (like 6-10+ years) between kids and I wanted a less than 3 years gap. </p> <p>Our first we were like whatever s/he comes when s/he comes. I knew I wanted two (DH was less certain), but the idea of being pregnant again and willingly accepting more sleepless nights was not appealing. I'm still feeling this way at 31 weeks pregnant! But there's some excitement mixed in there, too. The first time around, I was nothing but excited and grateful, so this has been a pretty different experience. The whole parenting thing was so scary to me before.</p> <p>We didn't have to TTC last time though so I do have nervousness that it will take a while to get pregnant and stretch out the age gap more than we would like. I do feel like the clock is ticking now.</p> <p>I was not sure if I wanted another one for a while because I couldn't imagine trying to parent two kids. As LO gets older and more independent I am getting really excited to see her as a big sister. The first time, I was excited and relieved that we were finally ready to try. After we lost that pregnancy, the second time was pretty bad, and I was very anxious and desperate. My last company covered infertility but my new one doesn't. But, to be fair, i was pretty nervous about #1 too, and how it would turn our worlds upside down. and it did, for the better. I figured...it took us over a year with two losses to get E, so I would have time to come around to being excited about it? But then I got pregnant on the first cycle post IUD removal! We're really settling into life with our 20 month old, and adding a new baby means starting over ... it's a lot to consider. </p> <p>My first pregnancy ended in m/c ... I have a double MTHFR mutation, and after my LO was born, I had another m/c ...
