@Mamaof2: I am currently working but we have a weird situation and I'm not entirely sure how we're going to deal with it. We live in the Bay Area but DH works an hour and half away (sometimes can work at home) and I sometimes also work an hour and fifteen minutes away from home, depending on which office I'm working out of. The office by my house only has a couple other people and none of them have little kids. I guess I need to figure out where DH and I will and where we want to have LO in day care.... :-/

I would probably look for a nanny that one of my friends used.

I've heard care.com is great for flexible caretakers that can work those types of one-off schedules.

in-home daycares are very flexible. I know mine watches some kids part time, 2 days a week. You can check through the state for licensed in-home daycares. Otherwise it is VERY word of mouth

We didn't have a lot of options and I needed someone with long days and a very flexible schedule (also 1-2 days / week). I knew that no center would accommodate that so we posted an add on care.com and got lots of responses. We met with and interviewed several people and found one that we love! She still watches M at 18 months and we are very close to her and her kids.

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and haven't started looking for infant in the Bay Area. I know my mom can help 2 days a week and I'm hoping MIL can help another 1-2 days a week, leaving me with needing to find infant care for the other 1-2 days a week, staring in mid-November (realistically we could probably finagle something until January).

So how did you go about finding good infant day care? I've tried posting to my local Mother's Club and have come up with a couple recommendations, and have also looked on Yelp. I'm just not sure where else to look.... Thanks!
