@grizz: Our pediatrician recommended Neutragena T Gel. Our baby's cradle cap got pretty bad and started causing facial dryness, so we needed to get on top of it. We used it every night for a few months and then the cradle cap eventually resolved on its own. It smells good and is invigorating on the scalp. LO didn't mind it at all. Using oils caused more of a build up on the scalp and seemed to exacerbate the problem for him.

@sslm: I would just take a dime sized portion an rub it into the scalp about two to five minutes before a bath and then rinse it out when I wash the hair. Know that heir head will smell a little funny during the treatment, but it is so worth it to get rid of the seborrhea for good!

We put olive oil on LO's hair, let it soak in for 10 minutes and then used a fine-toothed comb to comb out the flakes. Then we washed the oil off in the bath. It was really the combing that got the flakes out (but the oil loosened them). I waited so long to do it hoping it would go away on its own (as it wasn't a ton), but I'm glad I did it, because as soon as I did, a lot of new hair grew in. Maybe it's a coincidence, who knows...

@grizz: I did baby oil. Let it sit for a few minutes then brush with a soft brush. I would also brush his little head when it was dry too, to get all the flakes off (I was obsessed). Did this a couple days in a row and it was gone, but yes he was a grease head in the meantime. :)

Mustella Baby Foam Shampoo worked well for us. I had been trying selsum blue twice a week (per dr) for weeks with no improvement and found the foam shampoo it on clearance at our grocery store for $3 and figured it could be a last ditch effort. Even if it didn't end up working, it smells so good

I used baby oil and a soft baby brush, but brushed almost sideways against the cradle cap to loosen it up from the scalp. I had first just tried brushing like I would brush hair and it was doing nothing. I got it all off over the course of two bath times this way.

Selsun blue is full of really yucky chemicals. It's very harsh and I would not put it on our baby for something that is purely cosmetic and doesn't both them if it were me. The soft brush and oil had helped us a little and it also Kim of clears up on its own. Don't pick at it too much or it will become infected and that's what you don't want.
