Repeat as often as needed. I actually used my nails and lightly loosened the big chunks. It would pull the hair out too, but she wasn't itchy any more and it didn't come back after I did that. Then you comb the flakes off while they're softened and then wash. This was the only thing that worked for us. It took a good month for it to finally go away! I did that three days in a row, and it was basically gone. There's a tiny bit on his head now, but he's too rambunctious to get anywhere near olive oil now! I think I put it on shortly before bath and let it soak but just for a few minutes. Then we scrubbed gently with the soft bristle brush that came in her first aid/ grooming kit. Only took a few times. She also had it in her eye brows and it worked there too. It helps that DD has tons of hair, so it's really hard to see, but it's there. Her doctor said some kids have it through toddlerhood but I'm hoping it clears up before that (she's 6 months now).
