@obxwife: At 1st it was, but I like it better than her being in another building period! Plus, they are cool, I can go see her anytime I want...although it's harder now because she'll cry until I pick her up.LOL

@MsMamaBear: My cousin works in the daycare her son goes to as well! It must be hard to be in the same building and not be able to see him. :/

I was rough for me. and my daughter is in the daycare where I work! It felt hard having her over there and I had to be in my room with those children instead of her.:(

It gets better though, once you all get a schedule down.

@obxwife: The daycare I take my daughter to has them already set up so I can log into their site and watch what they do. I think that's been the biggest help in going back to work. At least I can see when she's being held and played with.

I understand the jealousy part and I have trouble with that too - especially because she's starting to get so much more of a personality. But I just focus on getting through the day so I can hurry and pick her up. :-)

@BabyBoecksMom: My mother will watch him my first month back and then he starts daycare. How did you use a webcam? I'd love to know! I'm sure she expects a million calls from me throughout the day.

I'm kind of jealous someone else will get to hold him and take care of him but that's something I'll have to get used to!! Thanks girls :)

Big hug to you! I don't have any advice yet as my first day back will be Wednesday the 25th and I am really not looking forward to having to leave my LO. =\ It completely sucks that just when she is staring to get more interactive and smiling / cooing that maternity leave is over. Boo!

Oh I wish I could give you one BIG HUG!

My first week back at work was last week. It was actually better than I thought it would be for some things and harder for other things. It's ok to be emotional and know that everyone expects it. Just take it easy, and take lots of deep breaths! If you're pumping, take that time to help get you slowly settled.

ETA: I was able to watch my LO through a webcam and that really helped. Also, don't be afraid to call the caregiver as many times as you need to - they expect it! Also, if you're leaving your LO in daycare, there is a good chance that he might not sleep well with all the new activity, so there will be an adjustment period as he gets used to everything. I actually don't mind that because it means that I get to spend more time holding my LO while we're at home at night than I would have normally done during the day.

I have one full week left before going back to work on May 1st and it's absolutely breaking my heart. I don't know if it's hormones or PMS but I can't stop crying over the fact that I won't be home with my baby boy all day!!

How did you deal with leaving your LO to go back to work?

I've left him before, for date night/girls nights etc but this is a whole new ball game. This is going to be EVERY DAY. :(
