We nap trained our daughter at 6 months using the Sleep Sense plan. We did 5 minute checks as needed. She caught on very quickly- like, within a day. She's 9 months now and has days where she fights naps. I generally give it 30 minutes and if it's not happening, I play quietly with her and try again. The best thing I can recommend is trying to figure out what the appropriate awake time should be. Good luck, I know it's tough. We had to hold our daughter for all of her naps before we trained and I obsessed over her sleep. Sleep training is rough on everyone but so worth it for us.

We sleep trained night and nap at the same time. Starting at 9 weeks maybe? I let her cry for 20-30 mins and if she wasn't sleeping, I'd just rock her to sleep. I would pump while I put her down for her nap, so I couldn't pick her up. Eventually, she started falling asleep before I finished pumping.

How long did it take? I don't really remember, but maybe a couple weeks. It got better within a couple days, but it felt like forever.

@CakeLady: I hear you. Our naps are a disaster (always have been) and he's waking an hour early every day. His sleep sucks. He's a super happy content baby, so I'm lucky in that aspect but this sleep stuff is crappy. I have high sleep needs and this ISN'T working for me!!

urgh we started 2 weeks ago and A is on her second nap of sitting up and crying.. hoping she falls asleep soon.

How old was your LO? - 9 months (7 corrected)
What was your plan? (ex. how long did you leave, did you do checks, what did you do during checks, etc.) - i will let her cry for 20-30 min without checks (i can see her on her video monitor) bc if i check and she sees me it's even worse.
What did you do if the nap failed? (ex. start over in an hour? Let them nap however they could to make up the time?) - i try to wait till the next nap. usually she will fall asleep eventually.. today seems to be a different story
How long did it take to nap train? - it's been 2 weeks, and was really good. since she started being able to get up to sitting on her own it's been pretty rough. the last few days have been hard.
