I feel like our goal was just to survive the first month or so, and that meant J (he was 21 months) got to watch tv/iPad a lot. We also did a lot of colouring/play doh/painting and long baths during the day. I also found he liked vacuuming and dusting and "helping" with laundry/dinner :)
We got in a groove at about 2 months (May) and started getting out every morning.
If by some miracle they both sleep at the same time make sure you take that moment for you!

We send them to school three times a week, tempted to send for five lol. Let them play outside while I hold baby. Or we run around in basement. Lots of books, puzzles. Once in awhile ipad. They just started really getting into tricycle. Baby definitely gets short end of stick.

I agree w/ @BabyBruins: . It wasn't ideal, but it worked until we could get into a rhythm. Also, having family take DD out and spend time w/ her helped A LOT.

Not gonna lie .... a TON of TV and iPad. Even though I SAH I have a "mothers helper", a local college girl, who would get the older one out of the house or otherwise occupy him.

Can you do a babysitting swap or play group? This scares me a lot about having a second one!

I bought a water table and put it inside our sunroom. TV. iPad. Blocks. Play dough. I had a feb NB and a 17 month old so whatever it took!

So, I SAH right now. LO1 goes to school 2 days a week, 9-3. I'm wondering how I'm going to keep him entertained while we have a newborn. It's cold. It will soon be snowy. I can't imagine I will be getting out much the first 2-4 wks. ETA: L01 is 30 months.

What did you do to entertain LO1 while you had a newborn?
