We had biting issues that I was not willing to work through at 11 months, so I like to think we weaned by mutual agreement. He was already being mix fed by then, so we switched to just formula for a couple of weeks then onto cows milk. If you hate cows milk, maybe buy a few different types of alternatives (almond, rice, goats, etc) and see if she'll take them? And have plenty of cuddles as well, whenever she wants to nurse. I dunno! I also had no interest in breastfeeding a toddler so was happy to wean "early". Good luck! I think just do what works for your family.

My oldest started nursing like a newborn at about 15 months, and that's when I started limiting it. We slowly worked down to just morning and night, and then at 28 months, my supply dropped and it started hurting. I weaned her then, and she was ready.

If you're enjoying it, great. Just do it until you don't want to. Or until she stops.

I probably should night wean at some point. Both of them haha. I feel like I never sleep.

Mine would have appeared on the cover of Time Magazine as a proud elementary school breastfeeder. If anything, approaching 2 made her nurse more. So I nursed her as long as I could until it was driving me nuts, then weaned her. I have another little nursling and it didn't seem confusing for her.

I plan on cutting T off down to just morning/night around 1 year and backing off from there. I have no interest in breastfeeding a toddler, though, and I really really REALLY want to go back to wearing bras with wire in them again.

I feel your pain. Dd is 21 months and would nurse forever. I just stopped nursing her at night but it is so hard! She loves going to her spot on the couch after I get home from work and demanding milk!

H weaned at 21 months. Prior to that, I day weaned at 12 months because I couldn't pump at work anymore. She dropped her nighttime session on her own at 14 months and by 21 months she dropped her morning session. It was painless, but the hormone shift for me was a bit rough.

What I did probably won't apply to you, but here it is. I worked out of the home full-time, so I was pumping and providing bottles during the day. Once Xander turned one, I had to stop pumping at work, so I had to day-wean. I just replaced bottles (and then on the weekends, day nursing sessions) with cups of milk and told him "No, we're not nursing anymore, here's some milk." But I still nursed him morning and night until he self-weaned at 14.5 months. Planning on doing the same thing with #2.

Mine self weaned at 20 months, which felt like the right time to me. But I don't know how it would have gone if I was also nursing a baby. I will say that just a couple of months earlier I would have said she would never self wean, since she was obsessed, but she did. She also was down to just morning and bedtime which was fine with me. I imagine your baby is nursing more than that still though.

M is still nursing, too, and doesn't seem to want to ever stop. I want to cut him off, but I've been too lazy to try and wean. I'm hoping he'll quit on his own soon.

Mine shockingly weaned soon after turning two. She was frustrated with my supply lowering and agreed to try milk before bed instead of nursing. A week later she was done. I was very surprised bc I didn't think she was close to weaning.
Does yours drink any other milk?

Did you let them decide or did you decide for them? My 20 monther is still nursing and probably will want to too she's 40 if I let her. Do I just cut her off when I decide is the right time for me? Is that selfish? I don't mind nursing her and I don't think she would understand yet if I told her nursing was only for baby bro and not her. So just keep going? Is there an age where it will make more sense? Like I said, I don't mind feeding her, but at some point I'm sure another baby will make an appearance. I guess I can nurse 3? lol!
