My husband spends a lot of alone time with my son which helps a lot. It's also nice because I can rest with the baby! Also, I take my son to his Gymboree classes which he loves, and either leave the baby at home if someone is there or take the baby in a sling. To this day, when M cries she runs up to her and says, "I'm right here little one." and runs her head or face. We also point out every time she gets to do something unassisted because she's big and we ask her to help her little brother because he's so little and helpless.
