Acquainted with each other for a few months while taking a class together with a mutual friend, then started to date right away. Engaged 9 months later. MEmorable memory- when we were dating or engaged DH went on a 10 day mission trip to the Philippines without easy email access. He had seen me being interviewed and hoped I would get the job. I met him on my first day at the office and instantly fell in love. He was just so handsome, smart, articulate, and funny. I no longer work at that company, but he is still all of those things. We dated for about six months before moving in together, and were together for two years before getting married. Didn't respond to any of them because they all seemed lame and it was overwhelming. DH was one of those emails and the email sucked--no originality. I didn't even open it to look at his profile. But then he PMd me the next time I logged on and I had nothing to do, so THEN I looked at his profile and he was smoking hot in exactly the way I find attractive. So then I messaged him back. We had 1 phone call and then we met up at a bar later that week. We played darts and bet on a future date (if he won, we were going to watch football, if I won, he had to go to a salsa class with me.). I won, we went to salsa class, and the rest is history.</p> <p>How long did you know each other before you started dating? a couple of days of online chatting, I guess.</p> <p>What is one of the most memorable memories just between the two of you? </p> <p>I knew he was a keeper when only a month after we met, he asked if I wanted to go on a long roadtrip across the country over Thanksgiving break (I'm a teacher). I said yes. On the road trip, he gave me all these adorable little coupons for things I could "redeem" on the trip. Somewhere in northern AZ, we chanced upon a snowstorm and we got out of the car to go into the woods to take pictures. When we got back to the car, DH discovered he had a hole in his jacket pocket and his keys had fallen through and we had no way to get back into the car. We were in the middle of nowhere with snow covering the ground as far as the eye could see. Most people would have gotten angry, freaked out, panicked, etc. Dh was calm as a damn cucumber. Just very calm and zen and made it funny. In Grade 10, we ended up sharing many classes and at the end of Grade 10, he asked me out! At the time I was a total nerd and quite the opposite of him. His parents had moved across country during the semester and he knew no one when he came home to be with them for Christmas break and was looking for friends and just off of a breakup. His parents had met me (also home for Christmas break) so he heard about me via them and added me on Facebook and just wanted to hang out/me to introduce him to some local friends. </p> <p>We went out for coffee the next day and never really stopped talking after that! We went through some tough times because we were long distance (Michigan and Cali) and neither of us wanted to actually define the relationship for a good six months but we were engaged only 15 months after we first met (less than, actually) and married 19 months after first meeting. We will have be married 4 years in August which is when I am due with our third together. He was married at the time, I was with someone else, and everything was well above board then. </p> <p>Fast forward to 2006, I had graduated; we had seen each other socially a few times over the years and we ran into each other on the street while out grabbing coffee/lunch. We chatted some, I knew he had been divorced for a couple of years and I was all girl-power fresh off a breakup and had always thought he was hawt so as soon as I got back to work I shot him an email asking if he wanted to grab drinks. Took him tops 3 minutes to respond yes lol we met up later that week, I spent the night (scandal) and I basically never left his house after that haha. Suffice to say, we had immediate, strong connection. We had a ton of mutual friends, went to the same punk shows, shared a favorite little Mexican restaurant that's pretty off the beaten path, and hung out all the same places... but never actually met. He ended up working in the same restaurant as me 2 years after graduation and I recognized him from a friend's prom photos! We started hanging out and realized that we should have met and started dating years ago. Pretty sure the universe was like "What is taking so long for y'all to meet already?". That same friend who went to prom with DH had her first daughter a couple of hours before I had DD in the hospital room next to ours (and we are not from a small town!!) </p> <p>How long did you know each other before you started dating?<br /> 3-4 months or so</p> <p>What is one of the most memorable memories just between the two of you?<br /> We lived in the most hellish tiny basement apartment when we first officially moved in together (after moving away from our mutual hometown and families after dating for 6 months). I had a job and he didn't so we were soooooo poor, but we were super happy to just be together with our puppy in our very own home. He was transferred to my office and there was an instant, mutual attraction the first time we met. </p> <p>How long did you know each other before you started dating?<br /> About 3 months. I was casually seeing someone else when we first met. We started officially dating two weeks after that relationship ended. </p> <p>How long have you known each other?<br /> 6.5 years</p> <p>Memorable memories?<br /> So many! We've traveled a together and done a lot, but I think the best was just realizing how right we were together within a week of dating.
